We’re excited to share Chompie’s grand opening celebration for its 32nd St. and Cactus Rd. location was a huge success! It was a week of festivities that brought the community together for our new restaurant experience. Read our blog post below to learn more about the fun we had and get the inside scoop of what makes this new location so unique.
What Happened During Chompie’s Grand Opening Week Celebration?
We started the festivities on Wednesday, February 9th on National Bagel and Lox Day. To celebrate this awesome holiday and the start of our celebrations, we offered guests a Lox Box, which consisted of six bagels, ½ lb of lox, and ½ lb of cream cheese for just $19.99. What a satisfying way to kick off our grand opening celebration.
Then on Thursday, February 10th we had live music from the Beatles tribute band, The Lennon Legacy. We also had local artist Randall Hedden demonstrate his speed painting talents with his works being a part of a silent auction to raise money for Arizona’s Junior Achievement. We were able to raise $1,500 for the nonprofit from the silent auction.
On Friday, February 11th, the 32nd St. and Cactus Rd. location honored law enforcement and the incredible skills of the Special Olympics with a “Tip a Cop” event. Local Maricopa County Sheriff officers served as “celebrity waiters” with tips (and donations) benefiting the Special Olympics. As a result, we were able to donate almost $1,200 to this incredible organization.
Then, on Monday, February 14th, we celebrated more than just Valentine’s Day. We also celebrated Chompie’s 43rd anniversary and the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 32nd St. and Cactus Rd. location. We gave out free heart-shaped cookies and cake to our guests. The event also featured a proclamation ceremony from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Councilwoman Debra Stark, and the North Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
